I LIKE TO LISTEN TO THE RADIO WAVES AROUND AND OUTSIDE THE GLOBE

Hi, i am Christian, i live in Krieglach. One of my greatest hobby is the radio. I like it since i was a child, i was in the nearness of a radio and i tune it.

I like to listen to the broadcast radio stations from all around the world, to the amateur radio stations in each modulations (CW, SSB, the digimodes,…..),  to the amateur radio satellites, the ISS. I am in correspondence with a lof of stations.  I like to write reception reports or give up my statement to their program. I collect QSL-CARDs.

By the hobby i am interested in the technic, electronic, to learn and to study the condx. When you study the condx, you can calculate the best time and frequency for each point of the world. So you can take the chance to listen to a radio station from far away, that by normal condx you do not hear. The radio has a great activity field, so it is a hobby for the whole life, that is greatly.

The Story from the legend of Krieglach

The legend of Krieglach tells that the whole area from Mürzzuschlag til Wartberg was covered by water wich has formed itself to a big lake. On the lake a small jug was seen swimming.

One day there happened an earthquake and because of fissures in the earth, the water vanished only a puddle with the small jug in it was left. On this jug there was painted a picture of the apostle Jakobus (the curch of Krieglach is named after him and it was according to the story built on the place where the jug was found). After some time settlements were found around the church and they gree bigger and bigger. These settlements were called „Krug an der Lache“.

Another story in this legend is, that there existed a knight called „Chrugo an der Lah“ and that he was the reason why our village got the name Krieglach. Some documents with the sign (a jug) of Chrugo were found. Wich made many reseachers sure that the knight Chrugo was really existed. The main castle of the „Men of Chrug“ was located on the Sommerberg in Krieglach. This is the thesis of some researchers. According to them remainings of the castle made it possible for the farmers on the Sommerberg to build such big farmhouses,……

Krieglach is a village with about 5220 people. In Krieglach there is a secondary school, a primary school and a upper school, metal Industrie, great and small farmers, gastronomy. On the end of the village we have some supermarkets. In winter you can go skiing, skating, touring ski,…and in summer you can go hiking, biking, mountainbiking,…. The air is very good, you can enjoy  the silence,  the nature.
